New Courtois Flugelhorn
Since we started doing concerts as Deux Voix in 2014, we have been played much of our repertoire using an instrument called a flugelhorn, which is very commonly owned by most professional and amateur trumpet players both jazz and classical. We purchased an instrument through a friend in the summer of that year using a gofundme.com campaign and have been able to perform and record on this instrument.... until now. It is now falling apart and is to the point that we have to replace it soon.
So as to never have to buy another one in the future, the flugelhorn we would like to replace it with is a top of the line model made by the French company Courtois based in Paris. Originally designed for renown virtuoso soloist, Sergei Nakariokov, the 156R flugelhorn is truly the best classical flugelhorn on the market, like the name Steinway when looking at pianos. In addition to it's dark sound and fine French craftsmanship, the instrument also has a 4th valve, which is used for low register playing, and all the technical aspects necessary for successful performing (i.e. 1st & 3rd valve slides, spit-valves, properly fitting mouthpiece, etc...). (Mouthpiece & case included)
In order to allow a six week shipping time, we are hoping to raise the money by the end of June in order to have it ready for our International tour in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, where we hope to be premiering a brand new piece on it!
