Houston Center for Photography (HCP) seeks a creative and detail-oriented Director of Education to oversee the development and implementation of HCP’s on and off-site Education Programs. With more than 200 classes per year, and a newly-renovated, professional-grade Digital Darkroom, Critique Room, and Lighting Studio, the on-site Learning Center at HCP is one of the most sought-after artist resources for photography in Houston. The Director of Education will coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Learning Center including programming quarterly seasons of courses, developing Master Classes with iconic artists, and working closely with HCP’s Executive Director on the overall strategy and development of the program. In addition to HCP’s on-site education programs, the Director of Education will work closely with the Access and Community Education Coordinator on the development of off-site educational programs, which currently serve over 2,000 children and adults around the Greater Houston Area in community centers, hospitals, retirement homes, and schools.

The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded knowledge of photography in all its forms, experience working in an arts education space, strong writing and administrative skills, and be passionate about furthering HCP’s vision and mission for the center.
