The Artist In Residence program helps provide new and emerging artists in the Houston area the opportunity to become involved in the Houston Arts Community by providing a studio to show, sell and promote their art.
Artists in Residence (A.I.R.) will be housed in Studio #6 (approximately 120 square foot) for a 3 month period of time. Each A.I.R. commits to opening his or her studio to the public during every 3rd Saturday Open Studios and encouraged to take part in other events during their residency. Additionally, as part of the program, the participating A.I.R. must also agree to maintain and sell H&N branded merchandise located in a small showcase within studio 6. All personal artwork sales are the A.I.R.’s to keep. Any sales of H&N branded merchandise is to be given to a designated member of the marketing comittee at the end of each open studio night. In addition to 3rd Saturday Open Studios, there may be other events happening during the month. Most of these events you are encouraged to open for as well, but it is not required. It is also highly encouraged that you volunteer around the studios with art drop offs, light cleaning after shows, etc. We all do our part to keep Hardy & Nance running and hope you will as well. There is no fee associated with this program.
To be considered for the first quarter in 2020 (February – April) please have your application in by December 15, 2019.
