This workshop will focus on an applied learning style where participants will actually get to DO the things we talk about and SEE things in action. Participants may bring a laptop or smart device but are not required.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER: Julie Pippert is a leader in digital media outreach and online communication strategy. She’s spoken at major national conferences and events about the macro-impact of social media and how to use it as an effective tool, particularly for causes. As a consultant, Julie has primarily worked with associations and nonprofit organizations. Julie sat on the American Cancer Society’s Blogger Advisory Council. She has managed the Blue Star Museums program for Blue Star Families, a support organization for military families, in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Arts. She assisted with the American Cancer Society launch of their Choose You campaign, and co-founded and was managing editor of the Choose You blog, coordinating mini campaigns such as the Choose You stories, designed to encourage women to take positive steps towards a more healthful lifestyle. She has been published in the Houston Chronicle, The Guardian, and Chicago Sun Times, and was a contributing author to the spectacular celebration of women’s work, Kirtsy Takes a Bow. She was named one of “The Stir’s” 30 Political Mom Bloggers Who Will Change Your Vote,” has consulted with national and local political campaigns, was an editor at MOMocrats, TheMotherhood.com, and is the Houston editor of “Savvy Source.

Coming from I-45: Take the Allen Parkway exit. Go west (away from town) on Allen Parkway to Waugh. Take a right on Waugh. Go over Memorial. Take the first left (Feagan). Go one block to Waugh.
Coming from I-59: Take the Shepherd exit. Follow Shepherd North until to reach Feagan. Turn right on to Feagan. UWGH on left before you reach Waugh.
Going East on Memorial: Going east on Memorial toward town from the Galleria area, Take the Waugh Dr. North exit. Go over Memorial. Take the first left (Feagan). Go one block to Waugh.
Going West on Memorial from Downtown: Take the Waugh Dr. North exit. Take the first left (Feagan).
Coming from I-10 West: Take the Yale exit and go right (south), following it all the way past Washington (Yale changes to Waugh there). UWGH is on the right at Feagan, just before you reach Memorial.
Coming from I-10 East: Take the Yale exit. Turn left heading south. Follow Yale all the way past Washington (Yale changes to Waugh there). UWGH is on the right at Feagan, just before you reach Memorial.
