This month, we are asking you to choose courage, Houston. All of us know those people in our lives whose courage helps us to know that however things might seem, there is still reason to hope. We need you to be that person for someone else, and we hope that the art that we bring to the mic this month can help inspire and uplift you.
Nelson Mandela said, "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." In this time when fear and xenophobia threaten to tear our city, our state, and our country apart, we aspire to be nothing less than conquerors.
Come out on May 30th, and let's be stronger together.
