Opera in the Heights' La clemenza di Tito

As Mozart’s last opera, written in 1791, La clemenza di Tito takes place during the reign of Roman Emperor Titus around the year 79 AD. The opera lacks the typical tragedy dripping with death, and the main character (a virile tenor) does not get the girl. However, the themes of jealousy, lust, power
and forgiveness more than make up for the absence of death, making Mozart's rarest opera relatable to today’s audiences. Opera in the Heights (OH) is offering 50 percent off to all first-time opera-goers for any performance of La clemenza di Tito, starting Jan. 30 and running through Feb. 8. This is the perfect time to check out the renowned regional opera company at an affordable price and see one of Mozart's rarest operas. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 31, Feb. 5, 6, 7 and 2 p.m. on Feb. 1 and Feb. 8. Regular ticket prices are $35-67; seniors are $32-58 and students are $15-17.
