Earlier works by Stout and Espada will be on view, visually illustrating the stylistic developments for each artist throughout their respective careers. Also, on display will be a vignette exhibition entitled Immediacy: Watercolors by Dick Wray, as Wray was a colleague and major influence on all of the aforementioned artists. Presented by Foltz Fine Art, NEXT:Three Generations of Houston Abstract Expressionists and Immediacy: Watercolors by Dick Wray will be on view March 16—April 27, 2019, with an Opening Reception on Saturday, March 16, 6-8pm.
Also, in the new year, the gallery started hosting Second Saturday Coffee Talks from 1- 3pm at the gallery as a chance to visit with artists, scholars, collectors, and other Texas art enthusiasts. In conjunction with this exhibition, the gallery’s Coffee Talk will be held Saturday, March 23, from 1-3pm with the artists. Coffee Talks will be video recorded to help preserve the importance of oral histories in our community. During these gatherings, the gallery will serve coffee and pastries from local businesses and makers. Supporting local, whether it be Houstonians or Texans in general, is always a good thing in our book.
