Mozart's Clarinet Quintet: A Match Made in Music

Presented as part of the Houston Early Music Festival

Houston's newest period instrument ensemble introduces a new genre to the Festival: chamber music from the Classical era. Join us for the music of Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, colleagues who inspired one another and remained the best of friends. And what better way to celebrate the day of love than with Mozart's Clarinet Quintet and the basset clarinet d'amore! Historical clarinet virtuoso and builder Thomas Carroll joins La Speranza on his model of the instrument for which the quintet was intended.
