Inprint Colm Tóibín Reading

2016/2017 Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series

The
2016/2017 Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series concludes with internationally
celebrated Irish writer Colm Tóibín. Three times shortlisted
for the Man Booker Prize, Tóibín
has received critical acclaim for his short stories,
nonfiction works, plays, poetry, and novels, including Brooklyn, Nora Webster, and his latest, House of Names. Booklist, in a
starred review, describes House of Names—which
is a retelling of the legend of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon—as "brilliant...gripping...The selfish
side of human nature is...made tangible and graphic in Tóibín's lush
prose." His work has been translated into more than 30 languages.

The
reading will be followed by an on-stage interview conducted by novelist and
University of Houston Honors College faculty member Robert Cremins, and a book
sale and signing.
Inprint
and Houston Public Media will also live stream the reading on www.inprinthouston.org and www.houstonpublicmedia.org/inprint.
