dj Cheb i Sabbah and Riffat Sultana & Party
On a balmy Southern Californian evening in 2003, dj, producer and self-proclaimed "musical adventurer" Cheb i Sabbah joined forces with Pakistani Qawwali ensemble Riffat Sultana & Party along with British Indian dhol player Mitch Hyare for an extraordinary evening of live Bhangra. Memories of that concert continue to speak to those lucky enough to be there. That same band of sonic explorers will gather once again to mark Eid al Fitr and to celebrate the opening of Asia Society Texas Center.
