The company’s stellar tenth anniversary season closes with the world premiere of Walsh’s Camille Claudel about this artist of exceptional and unusual talent who influenced the great Auguste Rodin. Walsh has assembled an amazing creative team for this new work including poet Addie Tsai, Libbie Masterson for the set design, Domenico Luciano for the costumes, and composer Kinley Lange who will design the soundscape. We pair this fascinating new work with Walsh’s The Itch, a feisty duet he created for the 2002 International Ballet Competition; a reprise of Swedish choreographer Mats Ek’s witty Pas de Dans; the White Swan pas de deux from Matthew Bourne’s Tony award-winning Swan Lake; and, of course, an unforgettable interpretation of Walsh’s The Dying Swan by Krissy Richmond. Richmond became a Principal Dancer during Walsh’s first few years at Houston Ballet, and then headed off to an amazing Broadway career in 1993.
