Cultured Cocktails with EmcArts + Harvey Arts Recovery

Please join us for drinks and conversation at Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar on Thursday, March 1 from 5:00 to 8:00pm for a community building happy hour!

As a part of the New Pathways for the Arts | Houston, Incubating Innovation program,  Writers in the Schools, DiverseWorks, and Fresh Arts are participating in a week-long intensive retreat to prototype new ideas. Join us mid-week to hear about our prototyping process as part of the work we're doing in the Houston arts community!

So enjoy a drink or two, meet the Incubating Innovation participants and learn about the work they are doing in the Houston arts community-- Writers in the Schools, DiverseWorks, and Fresh Arts-- and take-in Boheme's bohemian atmosphere! The proceeds from the evening will support the Harvey Arts Recovery Fund so don't be shy, raise a glass (or three) while raising funds for an important cause.

About the Harvey Arts Recovery Fund:

The Harvey Arts Recovery supports the disaster recovery needs of the Greater Houston arts, culture, and creative community in our 10-county region. As a collaborative effort of Houston's arts services sector, our focus is on aiding individual artists and rebuilding and restoring smaller arts and culture nonprofits by providing them with recovery and funding information. Harvey Arts Recovery is also gathering data from artists and nonprofits who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey in order to request funding from national art funders, and advocate for disaster recovery laws to be more favorable to the arts.

About EmcArts and New Pathways for the Arts | Houston:

At EmcArts, a nonprofit service organization based in New York City, e create the space and conditions for our partners to take on their most complex challenges. Since 2005, we've worked alongside 2,500 practitioners, 250 organizations and over a dozen communities as they've fostered silo-busting relationships, let go of old assumptions, experimented, and succeeded in making progress. Our rigorously designed and facilitated workshops, coaching, and intensive labs create the space and conditions to test innovative strategies and build cultures that embrace a changing world.

New Pathways for the Arts | Houston, a partnership between EmcArts and the Houston Arts Alliance, is a multi-year program geared to strengthen Houston’s distinct arts organizations by investing in adaptive change efforts. This program celebrates and advances organizational innovations as responses to complex challenges during times of rapid change in both the arts and nonprofit sectors.
