Musiqa and Aurora Picture Show unite for our annual partnership to present Crossings, an evening of contemporary music and experimental film. The program features a collaborative concert with Music from Copland House, the acclaimed resident ensemble of Aaron Copland’s landmark home in New York.
Musiqa is a contemporary music group that takes a fresh look at the concert experience by blending dance, poetry, theatre, film and the visual arts with the finest modern repertoire. Musiqa's programs have been recognized by awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Aaron Copland Fund and the Argosy Foundation and been featured on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered."
Music from Copland House has come to occupy a special place on the U.S. musical scene as its only American repertory ensemble. Engaged by some of America’s foremost concert venues, including the Library of Congress and Carnegie Hall, MCH has also collaborated with NPR and the European Broadcasting Union, and is in residence at Sarah Lawrence College, where it undertakes concert, educational, and recording activities.
