Constructed

MECA participates in FotoFest 16 with Constructed, photographed works by Jo Zider.

MECA Dow School Lobby

March 14 - April 29, 2016

This exhibition is dedicated to Berta Cáceres, Honduran Human Rights and Environment activist.

Ziders' work with clay took a turn from producing beautiful sculptural forms to making bones; femur like bones, bent by stress and abuse. Every handmade bisque fired clay bone is a prayer for a victim or abuse. In mass they speak of atrocities and genocides. The photographs are documented compositions of site specific installations. Each installation has a moment in time and has afforded a variety of compositions and perspectives to be photographed. Ziders' work is ephemeral in nature as she contemplates intolerance to racial, cultural and religious diversity.
