Around the World with Young Audiences of Houston: Bana Ba Bapala & African Songs

World, international, African, American, young, Houston, audiences, bana, ba, Bapala, miller, outdoor, theatre, theater

"Bana Ba Bapala," which means "children at play," is an upbeat presentation of South African songs, drumming and dancing. Kuumba House dancers depict a typical Saturday for a South African child whose day includes baby-sitting, cooking, cleaning and most importantly playing. Join talented musicians on a tour featuring an itinerary of work songs, lullabies, children's songs and travel songs, each highlighting a different facet of life in South Africa. Presented by Young Audiences of Houston.

Miller Outdoor Theatre, where performances are always free, has entertained and delighted several generations of Houstonians. Pack a picnic basket, a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the performance from the hill, or sit in the brand new seats under the canopy.  For information on maps, parking, etc., please consult the "Plan Your Visit" section of the Miller Outdoor Theatre Web site www.milleroutdoortheatre.com or call (281)373-3386.
