1909-2009: The Great Collaborators of the Ballets Russes

A celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Ballets Russes. Under Sergei Diaghilev, this revolutionary Parisian company drew upon the genius of leading composers, artists, choreographers, and dancers to produce groundbreaking productions that redefined classical dance. In this tradition, Walsh offers his 21st century take on classics from that era.

Le Spectre de la Rose
Walsh's beautiful movement, inspired by images of Nijinsky as the Rose, blends with innovative set and costumes designed by artist Katy Heinlein.

The Dying Swan   World Premiere
This powerful solo made famous by Anna Pavlova is transported to a present day scenario of a woman abandoned, with hair designed by Ceron.

The Afternoon of a Faun      World Premiere
For his interpretation of Vaslav Nijinsky's shocking choreographic debut set to a Claude Debussy score, Walsh draws inspiration from Auguste Rodin and his dynamic sculpture of Nijinsky.

The Firebird   World Premiere
Danced by Paris Opera Ballet Etóile Marie-Agnès Gillot and Domenico Luciano, Walsh's tour de force adaptation is a window into a couple's life and psychological turmoil. Set to Igor Stravinsky's renowned score with scenography by Frederique de Montblanc.
