Fresh Arts presents Summer at Sawyer Yards
This summer Fresh Arts is partnering with the Washington Avenue Arts District to host FREE EVENTS and PUBLIC ART TOURS for an intimate look at the artists of Sawyer Yards, Houston’s largest, most eclectic group of artists and makers. Beginning this May, visitors can explore Sawyer Yards creative campus through monthly guided tours, featured artist talks, block parties and more. Learn the history of Sawyer Yards repurposed artist warehouses and spend the afternoon discovering an extensive selection of painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, clothing, textiles, printmaking, mixed media and more. It’s a laid back way to meet some talented artists, explore the Washington Avenue Arts District, and maybe find a treasure or two!
Summer at Sawyer Yards events are presented by Fresh Arts. Summer Art Tours are held in conjunction with Sawyer Yards’ monthly Second Saturday open studio events. Located in the heart of the Washington Avenue Arts District, Sawyer Yards is one of the largest creative campuses in the nation- a total of 7 warehouse buildings over 36 acres, housing over 300 working artists and creative business owners.
