METdance is currently seeking a Development Director for Fundraising, Major Gifts, and Board Development. This person will be working to secure funds for the non-profit organization by communicating with our past, current, and prospective donors, building a stronger development team for our organization directly with the Board, and finding foundations and grants. The person in this position will take pride and satisfaction in helping donors and the Board of Directors fulfill their passions and interests through their giving to METdance. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee our annual fundraising program
Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships
Maintain ongoing communications with private and corporate donors
Research donor relation programs at local, state and federal art institutions and foundations
Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders
Collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions
Develop print marketing collateral related to fundraising in collaboration with our advertising department
Provide monthly reports that accurately reflect activity, research, performance, and results.
4+ years of non-profit fundraising experience building relationships with donors and a proven track record of results.
Self-motivated and possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude, outstanding communication skills (oral and written), acute attention to detail, organized and the ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
Adherence to the highest ethical standards and convey sensitivity to the needs of donors and the Board.
Previous foundation relationships and strong grant writing experience.
Willingness to travel, work weekend and evening hours during performances and events.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and donor databases like Patron Manager.
